What you need:
-
1 package Nestle Espresso Morsels
-
Chopped peppermint candy. About 4 candy canes worth.
-
Parchment paper.
-
Spatula.
-
Grind or pound (with a mallet in a zip top bag) candy peppermint sticks to a medium fine powder.
-
Melt the morsels in the microwave, microwave on high for 45 seconds and stir vigorously. Continue to melt in 15 second increments stirring well after each, until just melted.
-
Spread melted chocolate onto parchment paper keeping the shape somewhat rectangular. The wider you spread it the thinner your bark will be. Thickness is up to your preference.
-
Quickly before the chocolate sets, sprinkle the top with the ground peppermint candies.
-
Wait patiently without sneaking a sample for the chocolate to set in the counter to a snap texture. If it is warm where you are working you can put the chocolate into the fridge for mins to help the process but wait for the initial set to take place. Do not leave in the fridge long as the moisture will melt the peppermint and can bloom your chocolate.
-
When chocolate is hard. Break into pieces, I prefer to use a knife to help this along so I can better control my pieces.
8. Enjoy!
